You have the absolute right to permanently remove your data at any time with one simple click of our REMOVE option. We will then delete you from our database altogether within 3 working days.
Our email updates allow you instantly unsubscribe, this just means we won’t send you emails.
To be legally compliant and to treat we visitors in the most transparent way possible it is the responsibility of the website to tell you the who, why, what and where of the information gathered.
5Rights controls its own data (and doesn’t share it).
We collect information on our website. It asks organisations or individuals to submit information if they choose to support us by becoming signatories to the coalition or to receive updates. We’ll check you still want to be on our database yearly.
It is important to know who our supporters are to communicate with them. That’s why we keep a limited amount of permission based data.
When organisations or individuals agree to publicly support 5Rights by joining us, we ask you to share your name, and basic contact details so we can keep you updated. We will only publicly share your name and logo with your explicit permission. When you share you data with us, it is always protected, safe and never ever passed to others.
Our data is held on a secure server, and by third parties; our database supplier (Sugar) who provide the software for our storage and email system (MailChimp), which sends out updates. These systems provide vital business services, They do not ‘use’ your data.
If there is something concerning you or you need advice on use of your data we recommend you contact a support line or organisation like Childline.
We encourage everyone to participate in the 5Rights debate. For any under 18s we recommend you choose to leave us just your first name and provide an email only if you want a response. You don’t need parental permission, because children’s data is protected in the same way as adults. We won’t publish your name on our website or in any other piece of our communications.
Our website is designed to be simple, and to educate. One common area not universally understood is Cookies.
