‘Digital Childhood’ Report Launched at BBC’s Children’s Global Media Summit

In December 2017, 5Rights launched its ‘Digital Childhood: Addressing Childhood Development Milestones in the Digital Environment’ report at the Children’s Global Media Summit in Manchester. Co-authors Baroness Beeban Kidron, Founder of 5Rights, and Dr. Angharad Rudkin, Child Clinical Psychologist at University of Southampton, were joined on the panel by Parentzone CEO, Vicki Shotbolt in a session hosted by Giles Dilnot from the Children’s Commissioner for England’s Office.

The panel considered how digital changes childhood and its impact on childhood development.  They explored the challenge of balancing a healthy digital diet with the need to ensure that children can access the digital environment knowledgeably, creatively and fearlessly. The report can be read here.
